</ul>

<p>In real estate photography, first impressions are everything. A potential buyer’s attention can shift in seconds, and cluttered or distracting details—like messy cords and tangled wires—can quickly pull their focus away from a property’s true appeal.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="custom-text" style="font-size:28px">Whether it’s TV cables hanging down a wall, visible lamp cords, or Internet router wires trailing along the floor, these small imperfections can make an otherwise beautiful space look unkempt or poorly staged.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In this guide, we’ll show you how to remove annoying cords and wires in Photoshop and discuss why this matters for faster home sales.</p>

<p>Let’s get started!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="why">Why Removing Cords Is Crucial in Real Estate Photography🏠</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="660" data-id="8177" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120633/wire-before-1024x660.jpg" alt="How To Remove Cords and Wires From Your Real Estate Photos in Photoshop" class="wp-image-8177" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120633/wire-before-1024x660.jpg 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120633/wire-before-300x193.jpg 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120633/wire-before-768x495.jpg 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120633/wire-before.jpg 1108w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Before: Cluttered Image</figcaption></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="660" data-id="8178" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120641/wire-after-1024x660.jpg" alt="How To Remove Cords and Wires From Your Real Estate Photos in Photoshop" class="wp-image-8178" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120641/wire-after-1024x660.jpg 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120641/wire-after-300x193.jpg 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120641/wire-after-768x495.jpg 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120641/wire-after.jpg 1108w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">After: Real Estate Photo Editing by PhotoUp</figcaption></figure>
</figure>

<p>When buyers browse property listings online, they’re not just looking for walls and windows—they’re imagining themselves living there.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Cords, cables, and other visual distractions break that illusion. Even minor clutter can make a room appear smaller, less organized, or less modern.&nbsp;</p>

<p><a href="https://www.photoup.net/dedicated-real-estate-photo-editing">By removing cords</a>, you create an image that emphasizes the property’s strengths, such as clean lines, architectural details, and open space, rather than background noise.</p>

<p>High-quality, decluttered images also reflect professionalism.&nbsp;</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p>Agents who consistently present spotless, magazine-quality photos tend to attract more clicks and inquiries, which often leads to faster sales. According to studies, listings with high-quality photos attract <a href="https://www.photoup.net/learn/key-real-estate-photography-statistics">118%</a> more online views compared to those with lower-quality images.</p>
</blockquote>

<p>Simply put, a tidy photo doesn’t just look better—it sells better.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="770" height="578" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/17151538/1115K77T.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-45144" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/17151538/1115K77T.jpg 770w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/17151538/1115K77T-300x225.jpg 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/17151538/1115K77T-768x576.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Virtual Staging by PhotoUp</figcaption></figure>

<p>Removing cords might seem like a minor step, but it can significantly enhance a listing’s perceived value and increase engagement across real estate platforms like <a href="https://zillow.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Zillow</a> or <a href="http://realtor.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Realtor.com</a>.</p>

<p>Let’s take a look at how to remove those pesky cords and wires in Photoshop.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="how">How to Remove Annoying Cords in Photoshop🪄</h2>

<p>Thankfully, Photoshop offers several effective tools to remove cords and wires seamlessly, even for complex backgrounds.&nbsp;</p>

<p>We&#8217;ll show you how to use one of the most effective and easiest tools for object removal: <em>The Clone Stamp Tool.</em></p>

<p><strong>Step 2.</strong> Select the<strong> Clone Stamp</strong> tool.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="488" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223823/image-1024x488.jpeg" alt="How to remove cords in Photoshop" class="wp-image-45313" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223823/image-1024x488.jpeg 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223823/image-300x143.jpeg 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223823/image-768x366.jpeg 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223823/image-1536x732.jpeg 1536w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223823/image.jpeg 1600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p><strong>Step 3.</strong> <strong>Zoom </strong>in on the place where the cord is visible.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="619" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23231000/3-1-1024x619.gif" alt="How to remove cords in Photoshop" class="wp-image-45327" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23231000/3-1-1024x619.gif 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23231000/3-1-300x181.gif 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23231000/3-1-768x464.gif 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23231000/3-1-1536x928.gif 1536w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p><strong>Step 4.</strong> Hold down the <strong>Alt button</strong>, and point your cursor to an area you want to sample. Usually, it would be a part of the wall or furnishing where the cord is visible. <strong>Click</strong> after selecting your sample area. The cursor should turn into a <strong>circle</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="619" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23231045/4-1-1024x619.gif" alt="How to remove cords in Photoshop" class="wp-image-45328" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23231045/4-1-1024x619.gif 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23231045/4-1-300x181.gif 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23231045/4-1-768x464.gif 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23231045/4-1-1536x928.gif 1536w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p><strong>Step 5.</strong> <strong>Brush</strong> over the cord until it disappears. Use the crosshairs beside the cursor to see what area is being cloned.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="618" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223824/image-2-1024x618.jpeg" alt="How to remove cords in Photoshop" class="wp-image-45315" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223824/image-2-1024x618.jpeg 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223824/image-2-300x181.jpeg 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223824/image-2-768x464.jpeg 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223824/image-2-1536x927.jpeg 1536w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/23223824/image-2.jpeg 1600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>And there you have it!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Removing cords isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about storytelling. Every real estate image tells a visual story about the property’s lifestyle and potential.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Clean, distraction-free photos help buyers visualize a polished, move-in-ready home.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a crowded market, such attention to detail helps agents stand out and strengthens a photographer’s professional reputation.</p>

<p>Additionally, decluttered images are more shareable on social media and marketing materials.&nbsp;</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p>When a property looks impeccable, it’s more likely to catch attention on Instagram, Facebook, or digital ads. In fact, listings with professional photos earn a <a href="http://www.ushomephoto.com/realestatephotography/articles/is_a_professional_real_estate_photographer_worth_the_cost.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">1,200%</a> increase in social media shares.</p>
</blockquote>

<p>&nbsp;In the end, cord removal is a simple editing task that delivers major marketing value.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="faq">Cord &amp; Clutter Removal in Real Estate Photos FAQ❓</h2>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-why-should-i-bother-removing-cords-if-the-property-will-have-them-anyway">Why should I bother removing cords if the property will have them anyway?</h5>

<p>While cords are a normal part of living spaces, they create unnecessary distractions in marketing photos. The goal of real estate photography is to highlight a property’s best features—not its cables or clutter. Clean images make rooms appear more spacious and refined.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-can-i-remove-cords-using-ai-tools-instead-of-photoshop">Can I remove cords using AI tools instead of Photoshop?</h5>

<p>Yes, some <a href="https://www.agentup.com/editing" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">AI-powered photo editing apps</a> offer automatic cord or object removal features. However, for professional results and full control, Photoshop remains the most precise and flexible option, especially for complex textures and lighting conditions.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-is-removing-cords-considered-misleading-editing">Is removing cords considered misleading editing?</h5>

<p>Not at all. Removing cords, minor blemishes, or clutter is part of standard real estate editing practices. It’s about presenting the property in its best light, not altering its structural or permanent features. Transparency and ethical editing are key, but removing temporary distractions is entirely acceptable.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-how-long-does-it-take-to-remove-cords-in-photoshop">How long does it take to remove cords in Photoshop?</h5>

<p>For simple edits, it can take just a few minutes per image. Complex cords over detailed backgrounds may take longer, but experienced editors can complete these touch-ups efficiently without compromising quality.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-can-i-outsource-this-kind-of-editing">Can I outsource this kind of editing?</h5>

<p>Absolutely. Many real estate photographers outsource cord and clutter removal to professional editing companies, like PhotoUp, to save time and focus on shooting more properties.</p>

<p>Let&#8217;s take a look at how to easily outsource your editing to the experts at PhotoUp.</p>

<p>Do you want to know how to easily do object removal such as cords and wires in Photoshop?</p>

<p class="custom-text" id="h-in-our-hyper-digital-lives-the-one-thing-it-s-impossible-to-avoid-are-cables-plugged-into-walls-from-extension-cables-to-chargers-earphones-router-cables-and-much-more" style="font-size:28px">In our hyper-digital lives, the one thing it’s impossible to avoid are cables plugged into walls. From extension cables to chargers, earphones, router cables, and much more… </p>

<p>In this post, we&#8217;ll show you how to do object removal in Photoshop and clean up your photos in just a few simple steps to create captivating real estate photography. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why Should You Remove Unnecessary Objects?</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="660" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120633/wire-before-1024x660.jpg" alt="Before object removal in Photoshop" class="wp-image-8177" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120633/wire-before-1024x660.jpg 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120633/wire-before-300x193.jpg 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120633/wire-before-768x495.jpg 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120633/wire-before.jpg 1108w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Before: Original Photo</figcaption></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="660" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120641/wire-after-1024x660.jpg" alt="After object removal in Photoshop" class="wp-image-8178" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120641/wire-after-1024x660.jpg 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120641/wire-after-300x193.jpg 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120641/wire-after-768x495.jpg 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/26120641/wire-after.jpg 1108w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">After: Real Estate Photo Editing by PhotoUp</figcaption></figure>

<p>We seem to spend half the day keeping our devices charged and ready to go. While that’s great for productivity, it&#8217;s awful when trying to create beautiful, sellable images of well-designed houses and apartments.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Real estate photos need to sell the vision of perfection, not reality. Prospective buyers won&#8217;t get a good feel for the property if the images look cluttered and messy. </p>

<p>In other words, that won&#8217;t get them interested and in the door, but a decluttered, clean, and depersonalized photo will! </p>

<p>Additionally, most people love to see a nice flat-screen TV on the wall but don’t need to see how it’s connected.&nbsp;The good news is that cords are relatively simple to remove using Adobe Photoshop, which we&#8217;ll show you how to do next.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-8-quick-steps-to-do-object-removal-in-photoshop">8 Quick Steps to Do Object Removal in Photoshop</h2>

<p>To learn how to remove cords and other objects in Photoshop, you can follow along with PhotoUp’s simple video tutorial or read the instructions below:</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<div class="epyt-video-wrapper"><iframe loading="lazy"  style="display: block; margin: 0px auto;"  id="_ytid_65860"  width="640" height="360"  data-origwidth="640" data-origheight="360"  data-relstop="1" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/QOQdSWkqbU0?enablejsapi=1&#038;autoplay=0&#038;cc_load_policy=0&#038;cc_lang_pref=&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;loop=0&#038;rel=0&#038;fs=1&#038;playsinline=0&#038;autohide=2&#038;theme=dark&#038;color=red&#038;controls=1&#038;disablekb=0&#038;" class="__youtube_prefs__  epyt-is-override  no-lazyload" title="YouTube player"  allow="fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy="1" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=""></iframe></div>
</div></figure>

<div style="height:25px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li>To begin, import your real estate photo into Photoshop.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Then, locate the areas where there are exposed cords and wires.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Find a selection of wall / floor behind the wires that is free of clutter. That’s what you’re going to clone.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Next, open the Clone Stamp Tool in Photoshop by going to the Windows menu and choosing Clone Source.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Alternatively, you can position the cursor over the area you want to clone and then Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (Mac) to define the clone source.</li>

<li>Now, go back to the cluttered problem areas and simply brush over the wire and watch it disappear like magic.&nbsp;</li>

<li>If the wire snakes over a different background then Alt-click once again on the new background and continue brushing over.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Once you have brushed over all the wires and digital clutter in the photo, click SAVE.</li>
</ol>

<p>As simple as that!</p>

<p>Do you want to learn how to remove an object in Adobe Photoshop for your real estate photography?</p>

<p class="custom-text" id="h-there-s-a-lot-you-can-do-to-change-the-objects-in-a-real-estate-image-provided-you-know-what-you-are-doing" style="font-size:28px">There’s a lot you can do to change the objects in a real estate image &#8211; provided you know what you are doing.</p>

<p>To give you a brief background, real estate marketing images have never been more important. </p>

<p>As the industry embraces the tools of online marketing, your images take center stage and need to convey everything there is to know about a listing. </p>

<p>You can no longer rely on the feel of a place to convince buyers. All they have to work with is your image &#8211; so it needs to be perfect.</p>

<p>In this post, we&#8217;ll show you how to remove an object in Adobe Photoshop to help improve your real estate photography using 9 simple steps.</p>

<p>But first, let&#8217;s take a look at why removing unwanted objects are necessary in the first place.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-why-should-you-remove-unwanted-objects-in-your-real-estate-photography">Why Should You Remove Unwanted Objects in Your Real Estate Photography?</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-4 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="630" data-id="7695" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143718/object-removal-step-before-1024x630.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-7695" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143718/object-removal-step-before-1024x630.jpg 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143718/object-removal-step-before-300x184.jpg 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143718/object-removal-step-before-768x472.jpg 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143718/object-removal-step-before.jpg 1444w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Before: Photoshop Car Removal</figcaption></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="629" data-id="7694" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143714/object-removal-step-after-1024x629.png" alt="" class="wp-image-7694" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143714/object-removal-step-after-1024x629.png 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143714/object-removal-step-after-300x184.png 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143714/object-removal-step-after-768x472.png 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143714/object-removal-step-after.png 1303w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">After: Car Removed</figcaption></figure>
</figure>

<div style="height:32px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>Fortunately, the software tools to radically alter the appearance of a room are there for everyone to use &#8211; if you know what to do.</p>

<p>In fact, removing an object in an image is one of the more challenging tasks you&#8217;ll do in Photoshop. </p>

<p>And if you aren&#8217;t familiar with the software, it can end up looking clunky and fake. </p>

<p>But if you are a skilled operator, then it’s almost magical how you can take unwanted distractions out of any photograph by working with areas that surround the unwanted object to cover it up. </p>

<p>When would you want to remove an object? Let’s look at a few examples:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>There’s an ugly spot of peeling paint in the kitchen</li>

<li>The photo of the bedroom has clothes strewn all over the carpet</li>

<li>There’s an unwanted car in the driveway</li>

<li>You failed to notice a person walking through the exterior just as you took the shot</li>
</ul>

<p>These are all situations when removing an object using Photoshop can improve your real estate photography. </p>

<p>Alright, let&#8217;s get into the nitty-gritty!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-removing-an-object-in-adobe-photoshop">Removing an Object in Adobe Photoshop</h2>

<p>To get started, you can either watch the video tutorial on how to remove a car from a driveway. Or you can continue reading the text below. </p>

<p><strong>Step 1. </strong>Start by right-clicking on the image you are working on, then select <strong>Edit in Adobe Photoshop</strong>.</p>

<p></p>

<p><strong>Step 2.</strong> Next, use the <strong>Lasso tool</strong> to select the area you want to replicate and to expand over your unwanted object.</p>

<p></p>

<p><strong>Step 3.</strong> After marking the object using the Lasso tool, you select the <strong>Clone Stamp tool</strong>.</p>

<p></p>

<p><strong>Step 5.</strong> Don’t make it too clean though &#8211; add a little ‘noise’ to the image by going to <strong>Filter &gt; Noise &gt; Add Noise</strong>. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image is-resized is-style-default"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="640" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143652/object-removal-step-6-noise-1-1024x640.jpg" alt="How to remove an object in Adobe Photoshop: Add noise" class="wp-image-7689" style="width:1024px;height:640px" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143652/object-removal-step-6-noise-1-1024x640.jpg 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143652/object-removal-step-6-noise-1-300x188.jpg 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143652/object-removal-step-6-noise-1-768x480.jpg 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143652/object-removal-step-6-noise-1.jpg 1440w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p><strong>Step 6.</strong> Then, add <strong>0.5 &#8211; 1% noise</strong> for a natural look.</p>

<p></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image is-resized is-style-default"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="606" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143656/object-removal-step-7-noise-2-1024x606.png" alt="Using the rectangular marquee tool in Photoshop" class="wp-image-7690" style="width:1024px;height:606px" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143656/object-removal-step-7-noise-2-1024x606.png 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143656/object-removal-step-7-noise-2-300x178.png 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143656/object-removal-step-7-noise-2-768x455.png 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143656/object-removal-step-7-noise-2.png 1439w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p><strong>Step 7.</strong> To cover over a larger area, open a <strong>new layer</strong> and use the <strong>Rectangular Marquee Tool</strong> to select it.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized is-style-default"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="606" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143700/object-removal-step-8-marquee-1024x606.png" alt="Using the rectangular marquee tool in Photoshop" class="wp-image-7691" style="width:1024px;height:606px" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143700/object-removal-step-8-marquee-1024x606.png 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143700/object-removal-step-8-marquee-300x178.png 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143700/object-removal-step-8-marquee-768x455.png 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143700/object-removal-step-8-marquee.png 1439w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p><strong>Step 8. </strong>Then, copy and drag that area, <strong>change the opacity</strong> to between 30%-50%, and cover over the object you want to remove.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized is-style-default"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="606" src="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143705/object-removal-step-9-opacity-1024x606.png" alt="Changing the opacity in Photoshop" class="wp-image-7692" style="width:1024px;height:606px" srcset="https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143705/object-removal-step-9-opacity-1024x606.png 1024w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143705/object-removal-step-9-opacity-300x177.png 300w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143705/object-removal-step-9-opacity-768x454.png 768w, https://cdn-wp.photoup.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/30143705/object-removal-step-9-opacity.png 1439w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p><strong>Step 9. </strong>Lastly, make sure there is no obvious repetitive cloning visible.</p>

<p>That&#8217;s it!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-wrapping-up">Wrapping Up</h2>

<p>With a bit of time and lots of practice, you can get really good at removing objects from real estate photos in Photoshop. </p>

<p>But if there are ways that you can better spend your time and energy, then you should consider outsourcing this kind of work to the trained professionals at a real estate photo editing company, like <a href="https://www.photoup.net/editing/real-estate-photo-editing">PhotoUp</a>. </p>
