Virtual staging ensures the absolute best photos for any listing — capturing the interest — and imagination of potential buyers. Virtual staging helps sell homes quickly and for higher prices.

To help you decide, we’ve looked at two better-known virtual staging providers, Spotless Agency vs PhotoUp – and compared them to see which is the better service.

Spotless Agency Virtual Staging vs PhotoUp

Founded in 2014 in New York City by a professional interior designer, Spotless Agency has grown to become a significant provider of virtual staging and related marketing services in the New York metro region and beyond.

Spotless Agency offers the following services:

  • Virtual staging

  • 3D modeling and rendering
  • Furniture rendering

Launched in 2012, PhotoUp is a global real estate marketing company offering a full range of virtual staging services (commercial and residential).

They also offer:

The company has a talented team of virtual staging editors and designers in the Philippines, plus a responsive customer service team in the US.

That said, we’re going to compare both companies in terms of the following:

  • Account creation & pricing
  • Design and style options
  • Production & turnaround time
  • And image quality

Now, let’s get our comparison of these two providers underway.

1. Account Creation & Pricing

To get started using Spotless Agency’s services, you need to fill out this form with your information.

And placing an order is easy and quick.

In terms of their pricing (which is quite high), it runs as follows:

  • Virtual Staging — offered in three levels of service – Light $79 per image, Standard $99 per image, and Professional $199 per image
  • 3D floor plans — depending on property size $350 to $500 and beyond
  • Virtual tours — again, depending on property size — are $600 to $900 and beyond
  • They do offer unlimited revisions

Looking through their website, I didn’t find anything about discounts for bulk orders.

Now, turning our attention to our other provider — to work with PhotoUp you create a free account, which was a simple and easy process, taking less than a minute.

PhotoUp uses a credit system to make payments for all services and offer discounts for bulk buying of credits. Their standard plans are:

  • $1.15 per credit for subscription clients
  • $1.50 per credit for on-demand, pay-as-you-go clients

Their charges for virtual staging are as follows:

  • Single set – 20 credits/$20 per photo
  • Double set – 30 credits/$30 per photo

Which set your order qualifies for is determined by the number of design pieces and furniture as well as how many frames a single room or space requires.

Additionally, PhotoUp provides 2 free revisions for their work, and then each additional revision costs 10 credits.

Next, the second aspect of our comparison examines both companies’ design and style options.

Ok, we’re halfway through our comparison. Next, we take a look at production and turnaround times.

3. Production & Turnaround Time

In terms of the turnaround times, there are some noticeable differences between the two companies.

Spotless Agency offers 24-hour virtual staging — but only for its higher price ranges ($99 and $199 per image) and a 2 to 4-day turnaround for its lower-priced services.

PhotoUp sends you low-resolution proofs for your approval within 24 hours. Once approved, they provide the high-resolution, virtually staged images within just a few hours.

Now, for the last part of our comparison — the image quality of both companies.

4. Image Quality

Both Spotless Agency and PhotoUp provide hi-resolution examples of their virtual staging work. Let’s take a loot at before & after images of virtual staging by both providers.

Virtual Staging by Spotless Agency
Virtual Staging by PhotoUp

When we compare the virtual staging results from both providers, it’s clear that both providers do excellent work.

All of the images are of the highest quality and are extremely realistic, impressive, and eye-catching.

With our comparison now complete, let’s review our results to see which company is the better option.

Our Conclusion – Which Is the Better Option?

First, we’ll note that Spotless Agency and PhotoUp offer many of the same virtual staging features and services. And both sites are easy to use and order from.

Second, the quality of both providers’ virtual staging is also similar — both companies do superb work.

Third, both Spotless Agency and PhotoUp offer a similar array of design themes – 10 virtual staging styles each, so both companies provide flexibility and popular options.

So far, both companies appear to be a solid choice for virtual staging work.

However, there is one, rather stark, difference between the two providers — price

Spotless Agency’s prices are extremely high. In fact, out of all the many virtual staging reviews we’ve done, their prices are the highest we’ve seen.

When you consider the quality of the work is almost identical, the price difference is startling:

  • PhotoUp charges around $20 per virtually staged photo
  • Spotless Agency charges $79 per virtually staged photo — and that’s for the low-end service options

PhotoUp offers faster turnaround times, too, unless you opt for Spotless Agency’s higher-priced services ($99 — $199 per image) in which case both companies deliver in the same 24-hour time frame.

Just in case the price difference isn’t enough to help you make a decision, PhotoUp also offers a broader, more complete range of real estate marketing services than Spotless Agency – including:

Therefore, when we weigh all those factors, we think it’s clear that PhotoUp is the better option.
