REPAtelier Overview

REPAtelier‘s name is really the joining together of two parts — the first is the letters REP, which stands for Real Estate Photo(s). 

The second part – Atelier, is a French word meaning a workshop of professional artists, where masters & assistants, students, & apprentices work together on various art projects.

REPAtelier specializes in real estate photo editing, but they also offer photo editing for a variety of eCommerce companies. 

Their photo editing team is located in the Philippines and they also have offices in the US and UK.

So, with that overview, let’s move on with our review of REPAtelier’s real estate photo editing services.

Pricing

We’ll start with REPAtelier’s pricing for their real estate photo editing services.  They list their prices upfront, so they are easy to find. 

Here is their basic pricing list:

• HDR and minor photo editing — $0.70 — $0.80 per photo
• Flambient editing — $0.90
• Day to dusk — $3.50 per photo
• Virtual staging — $17 per photo
• Object removal and decluttering — $1 — $5 per photo

Overall, their prices are quite reasonable. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information on bulk discounts.

Ordering From REPAtelier

Now, let’s talk about how to place an order for real estate photo editing with REPAtelier.

1. Placing an Order

Looking through their website, there isn’t a Place an Order button. 

However, I noticed the Client Area in the main navigation, so I went there next. Not only is there no order function but there also isn’t a way to Create an Account. 

You can log in on that page, but you can’t create an account, which is quite odd.

I returned to the home page and saw a button for a free, 3-photo editing trial. So, I clicked on that and arrived at this screen:

I understand when a business wants to know its customers and their needs. But a company can do that while also letting you place an order. 

The reason I came to this website was to get a few real estate photos edited, not have a conversation.

When a company won’t work with me until I tell them all about myself, it makes me feel like they are interviewing me. Maybe I should remind them of who is paying who?

Moving on — with no alternatives, I filled out the Send Us a Message form, which only took a minute. However, when I clicked Submit, nothing happened. 

There was no confirmation, no pop-up message telling me someone would be in touch shortly, just simply nothing. The form didn’t work, or if it did, there was no way for me to tell. 

I scrolled up a bit and found the customer support email, and sent REPAtelier a brief message that I’d like to try their 3-photo free trial.

2. Unfinished Websites & Waiting on Emails

After sending my email to REPAtelier’s customer support, I went back to their website to learn more about their services.

REPAtelier’s website is rather basic and not well designed. Here are some things I noticed:

• First, as mentioned earlier, you can’t place an order or create an account
• There isn’t a customer support chat feature
• Also, the site loads a bit slowly and is “jumpy”
• There are a few unfinished sections with no information
• I found several spelling errors
• Lastly, their photo editing samples were unimpressive

REPAtelier has been in business for a few years, so I’m surprised they don’t have a better-quality website. 

3. Uploading the Photos

Eventually, I received a reply email from REPAtelier about 4 hours later. The customer support representative asked me for a few details and I replied. 

He emailed back quickly (within 20 minutes) and explained the next steps:

• I could use whatever uploading site I wanted – REPAtelier doesn’t have their own
• Once my images were uploaded, I then send another email with the upload link
• REPAtelier would have 2 or 3 of their editors work on my photos and I could select the images I preferred 

It’s a bit annoying not being able to upload my images directly to them. But I have a DropBox account and uploaded my images there and shared the link with REPAtelier.

4. Turnaround Time

REPAtelier has an FAQ section. One of the questions is on turnaround time.

Their turnaround time is 6-16 hours, but they usually deliver your finished photos in 12 hours. 

And yes, Repatelier delivered my photos rather quickly, in just over 10  hours.

Well, now having explained REPAtelier’s ordering process, it’s time to review the photo editing results. 

Photo Editing Examples

My real estate photo editing order free trial with REPAtelier was for 3 images. So, I sent them 9 raw brackets to be blended into 3 HDR photos.

Also, I had a few other editing instructions, including: 

• Sky replacement on the exterior shot
• Window masking on the interior photos
• And for the bathroom photo, please remove a small towel

And as you will see, the quality of the work was actually quite good.

The HDR blending looked fine. And the sky replacement on my exterior photos was good as well, showing nice puffy clouds and a clear blue sky. The verticals were also straightened, which was good to see. 

The living room interior image editing was, again, fine — as was the window masking. However, they did desaturate the exterior view quite a bit, making the colors outside a bit blown out and less saturated.

Revisions

The free photo editing trial doesn’t include the possibility of revisions. And there weren’t any problems or issues with my 3 photos.

Image Quality

In summary, the quality of REPAtelier’s real estate photo editing was nothing spectacular, but decent. 

I couldn’t tell any significant differences in quality from the three edited versions of each photo they sent me. 

In fact, having three photo editors working on a free trial for just a few trial photos seemed excessive. 

REPAtelier’s Support

As noted earlier, my experience with REPAtelier’s customer support got off to a bit of a bumpy start. 

For example, consider these problems:

• There are no order placement functions nor can you create an account
• The website has no customer support chat window
• REPAtelier’s customer support phone number is in the Philippines – there isn’t any US telephone support

You’re limited to their email support, and that was a bit slow. However, I will say that the customer support representative was friendly and efficient once we established contact. 

Also, I should note, REPAtelier’s customer support isn’t 24/7. Their customer support is unavailable each day from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm, EST. 

Additional Services

As mentioned earlier, REPAtelier’s primary business focus is real estate photo editing. And they also offer virtual staging and 3D virtual tours.

Granted, those tend to be the most commonly used real estate visual marketing services, as well as the ones I most often use. 

Still, there are many other real estate marketing tools and services I frequently need, such as single property websites, property flyers, and floor plans, just to mention a few.  

It’s a definite advantage to be able to use a single vendor like PhotoUp for all my marketing needs. This saves time, effort, and even money.

Now, that our review is wrapping up, I want to reach a verdict on whether or not I can recommend REPAtelier’s real estate photo editing services. 

Well, let’s consider our findings once again:

• It was difficult and time-consuming to place an order
• Their website is somewhat confusing and a bit hard to navigate
• The quality of the real estate photo editing was good, but nothing special

Yes, REPAtelier’s services are cheaper than many others, and yes, the turnaround time was fast — but all the other noted issues outweigh these benefits.

Therefore, I cannot recommend using REPAtelier for real estate photo editing.
