Roomhance Virtual Staging Overview

Roomhance is a focused virtual staging service with a high-end offering.

Their testimonials are very good from clients in California and Texas and even one from Sotheby’s.

At $49 per VS, their pricing is literally double that of PhotoUp, and it reflects the kind of image and bespoke service they are going for.  

The website is elegant, and there are lots of examples of beautiful work that they have done. The slider in the Before & After section works well, and it gives a great sense of what they can do. 

On the other hand, Roomhance has very little interactive content on its site. There is no sign of any sign-up or bulk deals or a community, and their Instagram is quite sparse, too.

To be honest, it feels like visiting a smart, focused online art gallery. 

Nevertheless, there is a prominent Order Now button in the top right corner that sets the ordering process in motion.

Virtual Staging Examples

For the Roomhance test run, I selected three images; a master bedroom, living room, and dining/kitchen area, and asked them to use Loft / Industrial styling for the finish. 

Let’s take a look at the results before and after. 

What did you think of how the images turned out?

Personally, I was a little disappointed. Not because there was anything wrong, but because I was really expecting something special.

Instead, the results were fairly mediocre, in my opinion. 

I thought the bedroom was rather plain and the rug was too small in the living room. I would have liked to see some drapes as well, and definitely a few potplants.

All in all, quite an average result, especially considering the cost. 

Ordering From Roomhance

The ordering process begins almost immediately away with Roomhance. There is no filling in of name, address, etc., or setting up an account – it’s just straight down to business.

I must admit that it was a little disconcerting to pay over the rather substantial cost of three images before having signed up or uploaded the photos.

However, they assured me that once that’s done, I’ll get an email to get the process underway. 

The message says: ‘Once you place an order, you will receive a link in your email order confirmation with instructions to submit the photos and add instructions for staging.’ Screenshots of major flows:

1. Account Sign-Up

The offer to begin your transaction comes up on the site and via email as well, giving you two options to get started. 

The first menu item that tripped me up was the Estimated Property Value, which you have to fill in to move through the process.

It was an odd question, and I found myself wondering if they would prioritize more ‘expensive’ properties.

Their justification is that it helps them choose the appropriate furniture for your images, but I wasn’t convinced about that.

It feels a little bit odd if you ask me. 

Moving on, it also took me a bit of time to figure out how to upload all three of my images. The instruction wasn’t clear on how to add a second and third image, but after a while, I got used to the layout.

Roomhance asks for any other inspiration you may have for the room and other angles of the room as well, which I did appreciate. And I think it bodes well for the quality of their output.

There is also a text box where you can add any furniture options you would like to see or Additional Information.

Overall, the signup process is more time-consuming than other sites, but there is an attempt to get as much information as possible upfront.  

2. Payment

The payment was straightforward, and there were no hiccups.

Although, the price is substantially higher than all the other sites I’ve tested. There’s also far more reliance on email than the other services.

But overall, the payment process proceeded smoothly. 

3. Reviewing Order/Proofs

The finished photos were announced via an email approximately 36 hours after I had sent my order.

It was quicker than expected, and images were presented in a Dropbox folder where you can leave comments or download them to your computer easily. 

So technically, the process went smoothly. 

Doing Revisions

I was a little disappointed with the bedroom image, so I left a comment on the Dropbox page asking for a plant and a rug to brighten the room up a little.

It feels a little disconcerting as there’s no acknowledgment that your comment has been received, and it had me thinking if I should send an email instead.

But I decided to leave it to see what would happen and was pleased to see that a revision was delivered to my inbox only 12 hours later. 

I think that the results turned out nicely. Great rug choice and an OK potplant too. 

The notification came via email, and the new image was placed in the same dropbox folder, at no extra cost.  

Customer Support

During the initial image uploading process, I accidentally sent an image of the master bedroom twice instead of the living room.

I hadn’t noticed but was pleasantly surprised to receive an email within 5 minutes informing me of my mistake and asking me to send them the right image. 

I thought that was impressive customer support.

On the downside, I couldn’t find a way to get back into my account on the site, so I ended up just emailing the image as an attachment and hoping that would work out well.

Furniture Library 

There is no furniture library to choose from, but Roomhance does ask you for reference images of furniture that you may like. And you can easily provide this information using the text box field.

Virtual Staging Quality

The furniture chosen by the Roomhance team was very realistic.

I particularly liked the wood textures on the bed, and the stools in the kitchen area were very aesthetically pleasing as well.

The lamps in the bedroom could have benefited from a pop of color, especially as the art on the wall was black and white.

But overall, it came out pretty good. 

What didn’t feel exactly right to me was the placement. Particularly in the living room, where everything felt a little too bunched together. And the single chair on the rug wasn’t a great match with the sofa, in my opinion. 

Support

The support was very responsive and proactive in the case of the wrong image being uploaded, which I appreciated.

All communication happens via email and dropbox. In fact, there seems to be no way to get back into the backend of the site once you have completed your purchase. (i.e., I couldn’t see any login on Roomhance’s website).

On the other hand, they were very efficient in communicating via email. 

Pros and Cons of Roomhance

To summarize, here are some pros and cons of Roomhance’s virtual staging:

Verdict: Is Roomhance Virtual Staging Worth It?

This is a tough question to answer.

The system is simple but works well. The results are not bad, but not amazing either.

Overall, there are no extra bells and whistles to Roomhance’s virtual staging.

I think the problem lies in the expectations that they set up in the beginning. With a glamorous marketing website and price double everyone else, you really believe you’re going to get something fabulous in return.

But as you can see…it’s not really that fantastic! 

If Roomhance matched their results to what they are offering, it would be a more satisfying customer experience. But at $49 per image, I probably won’t be coming back for more.

VS24 Virtual Staging Overview

To begin, VS24 is a new player in the world of online virtual staging. They are based in Seattle, Washington, and launched their services in 2019 with a promise of delivering virtual staging for $24 in 24 hours.

Their position seems to be geared towards larger bulk orders for global real estate professionals. And they claim to have a network spanning the USA, Europe, and Asia.

Right now, their focus is firmly on virtual staging, but I guess they’ll likely expand their offerings as they become more established.

Virtual Staging Examples

Ordering three VS images through the website was a simple and slick process. The site was straightforward and user-friendly.

That said, let’s take a look at the results that VS24 produced:

Ordering From VS24 

1. Account Sign Up

For starters, the login button is well displayed and there are no latency issues here.

Creating an account was easy, which is a good start.

In the sign-up form, you simply fill in your name, email, password, and country. Or you can link your account to Gmail or your Apple ID for even easier signup. 

Once you’ve created your account, your first screen is dominated by an introductory video that explains how to use the service.

It’s a bit too “in your face” to be honest, but I suppose the video is useful if you have never done this before.

However, I could see this being annoying for a repeat customer.

To begin your virtual staging order, you first enter a project name and upload your unstaged images.

It was quite nice to see a chat bubble pop up offering help and advice while you’re uploading your images.

And after you’ve uploaded the images to the site, you’ll see a full breakdown of your images, estimated turnaround time, and total cost as you make your virtual staging selections.

Next, clicking on any of the individual images opens a menu of options that you can choose for that image, as well as the chance to leave comments.

It’s well laid out and quite intuitive. 

I left a couple of comments with special requests, which I hope they will implement (other virtual staging companies have failed to follow my instructions).

In the list of room types, it was strange to see that they didn’t have a kitchen/dining room combo option, as nearly all other services I’ve reviewed had.

Besides, you don’t have an option to select furniture sets from a catalog either. You can only choose a room type and style.

2. Payment 

The payment engine is powered by Stripe and works smoothly. 

On the other hand, they don’t offer an option to pay with PayPal for their service, which is a minor downside.

Once you’ve submitted your payment details, you get a message saying: “We’re currently reviewing your project to make sure we can take it on. This process can take between 15 to 90 minutes. You’ll get an email as soon as it’s been approved.”

The email arrived a few minutes later, and everything was in order.

My initial thought was that this step seems a bit unnecessary. But they did provide a very specific turnaround time that was “guaranteed” according to the email, which is a good confirmation of their offer.

5. Reviewing Order/Proofs

To my surprise, my order was delivered into my inbox 12 hours and 58 minutes later.

Much faster than the delivery guarantee!

How do I know the exact turnaround time, you may ask?

Because VS24 tells you this with a nice, big badge on their Delivery page. It’s a nice touch, which reinforces their speedy marketing pitch. 

Additionally, I also enjoyed the way that the images are displayed for you to review on the site.

Your virtually staged rooms are showcased using a slider feature, so you can go back and forth between the original and the treated image and compare the two (very similar to PhotoUp’s before/after slider).

There’s also a star rating system and two big buttons to either: a) download or b) request revisions.

Overall, the whole system is well thought out, clean, and easy to use. 

6. Requesting Revisions

It was easy to request a revision with VS24.

All you needed to do was click the Request Revision button from the delivery screen, select an area of the photo that you wanted them to make edits to, leave your comment, and then submit. 

I asked for one revision at the end of that hallway on the left (in the image below) and was pleasantly surprised to receive my completed revision request in just under 2 hours (1hr 58 mins to be exact). 

In addition, one final nice touch on the delivery page was VS24’s list of three handy additions:

1. Bulk download of all the images

2. Generate a short video tour of your property

3. Request a callback with an agent to discuss bigger changes

Furniture Library 

Unlike PhotoUp, VS24 doesn’t offer the user the chance to select furniture for their rooms.

Instead, they offer you 8 styles and 20 types of rooms to choose from, and then they take over and do the rest. 

Virtual Staging Quality

The quality of the work was good. Not outstanding, but perfectly acceptable. 

However, I noticed that the layouts chosen were smaller and tighter than in other services I’ve reviewed.

For instance, the sofa set in the living room, in particular, was positioned a lot deeper into the room and the pieces were closer together than I was used to.

But the sets were well-proportioned, houseplants and curtains well-chosen, and the final images certainly acceptable. Also, the rumpled throw on the bed gave an air of authenticity.

The bedside tables didn’t look realistic to me though, and I’d like to see more color in the bedroom. But I did like the dining room table set with the glass top and rustic wooden chairs.

Overall, the furniture was realistic.

As it seems, every service I’ve reviewed so far is stuck on greys and whites and subtle blues, which seems to be the trend for this VS24 virtual staging review as well.

Support

My revision request was completed in just under 2 hours, and the revision edit they provided followed my notes completely.

Although there is no personal interaction with the design team, the automated interface seems to work well. 

I also reached out using the VS24 chat feature and received a satisfactory response in under 5 mins.

The responder spoke in plain simple English, and seeing as most of the processes in VS24 happen automatically, it was good to interact with a human being on the other end. 

Pros and Cons of VS24

In all honesty, I didn’t expect much from VS24. But as it turned out, they provided a good user experience and quality product.

My initial thought was that they would be an impersonal bulk player.

But I was pleasantly surprised by how seamless their interface was, as well as their speedy service and relatively low price point.

I hope that they’ll add a furniture library in the future, but overall the quality of work is perfectly acceptable and in line with what they’re marketing.

3D Stagers Virtual Staging Overview

To begin, 3D Stagers is a virtual staging company based in Houston, Texas.

Their site came online in 2018, and they focus only on customers in the U.S. and Canada. Although while I was writing this review, I was actually in South Africa and experienced no problems.

3D Stagers Website

The website is uncluttered and there is a strong focus on getting the basics right.

But basic is just what it is!

It could benefit from more functionality, which I will get to later.

When checking their catalog, they only offer three styles for you to work with: Modern, Traditional, and Scandinavian, plus 5 room types. 

The good news is that you can click on each room type to view examples of virtual staging.

So overall, the website is focused on its niche and straightforward to navigate. 

Ordering From 3D Stagers

1. Account Sign-Up

The sign-up process is simple and straightforward.

You enter your email and password and you’re good to go, which is quite refreshing and quicker than some other virtual staging companies.

2. Uploading Order

The first interesting thing I noticed is that the company starts off by asking how many photos you want to process.

Only after you’ve paid for the service do you upload the photos you want, which separates them from the other services I’ve investigated thus far. 

However, I was glad to see that they accept PayPal as a payment method. 

3. Checkout

The checkout process was quick and smooth, and the Upload Your Photos button was visible right from the start. 

And in the next step, you were given the option to either choose one of five furniture styles or browse their full catalog. 

I chose their Traditional style and began to upload. (Note – There is a 100MB file size limit). Additionally, I also left a few instructions to see if 3D Stagers would consider them.

The good news is that each upload creates a small thumbnail image, which makes it easy to see what image you’re selecting furniture for. 

After selecting furniture and adding notes, I clicked the Upload button, and that was that!

The whole order process was quick and easy. 

Furniture Library 

To be honest, I was rather impressed with the 3D Stagers catalog.

First of all, I like how it opens up in its own pop-up window. And there’s a large selection of furniture styles to choose from and a useful FAQ section at the bottom of the page.

You can click on one furniture style to enlarge it and then scroll through the options to find what you like. 

Virtual Staging Quality

The notification that my virtual staging images were ready came in the form of an email at midnight on Friday.

To my disappointment, it took a lot longer than I was anticipating – almost 50 hours!

In contrast to the long delivery time, I was pleased to see that the quality of their initial work was quite impressive.

For instance, when clicking the link in the email, it opened a Dropbox folder, where I saw my finished images neatly laid out.

The only downside was that the edits or revisions had to be sent through email since they used Dropbox. But I could deal with that since the final product was good.

3D Stagers Examples

Living Room

For starters, I enjoyed the way that the designer picked up the blue theme and carried it through the whole room.

Also, the rug is a nice choice, and so is the lamp in the corner. Overall, the furniture is well-proportioned and fits the room.

Dining Room / Kitchen

I like the choice of chairs, and the sturdy wooden table is a good addition to the room.

Besides, the fruit and flowers look fresh and real, and the big modern fridge works nicely with the room. Also, the light reflecting off the fridge was a nice detailed touch. 

Master Bedroom

My first impression was that the master bedroom was nicely done, but a little too sparse for my taste.

So, I asked them if they could make it feel a bit more personal with some books and flowers, which they did. 

All in all, the standard of digital design was excellent, and there was good consistency from room to room.

Support

This is definitely the weakest area of the 3D Stagers offering. Not that the workforce is at fault, but their technology is simply not in place to have much meaningful interaction with their designers.

Like mentioned, when you download your artwork, it opens in a Dropbox folder. And while there’s a comment section next to your photo in Dropbox, there’s no indication that your message will reach the designers. 

Instead, I went back into my Account page and found a small comment box where I could leave a message and then click on the Save button to ensure it would reach the designer team.

It all felt too basic to me!

As you can see, support and communication is not the strongest area for 3D Stagers.

With that said, if you would need to work through a steady stream of comments and feedback, then this would certainly slow down your process.

Pros and Cons of 3D Stagers

My final verdict of this 3D Stagers virtual staging review is that the folks at 3D Stagers have a keen eye for detail, a wide selection of tasteful furniture sets, and make good choices in terms of placement, sizing, and layout.

The pieces are realistic and the placement and set designs are very good as well. 

In addition, 3D Stagers would benefit from improving the user experience of their website. Right now, it’s too basic and feels fairly limited. Although, it still works well and integrates easily with email and Dropbox.

To wrap up, 3D Stagers is a good choice for small, bespoke jobs but may buckle under the strain of a heavy workload.

Let’s take a look under the hood and see how well they perform in today’s VSH Media virtual staging review.

VSH Media Virtual Staging Overview

To begin, VSH Media is a virtual staging provider that caters to the residential and commercial real estate business with a variety of offerings. 

The company was founded by Marc Avila in Chicago eight years ago. As a Real Estate Broker for over 15 years, Marc saw the need to efficiently furnish his listings while not breaking the bank.

That was the initial impulse to create VSH Media, which has since expanded into offerings such as advertising, brochures, property websites, flyers, and more for professionals in the real estate industry.

Ordering From VSH Media

1. Account Sign-Up

Signing up for a VSH Media account involves filling out a basic form that sends a confirmation email to the address you’ve provided.

You then click a Verify Email button, and it takes you back to the Home page.

So far, so good. 

2. Ordering and Selecting Furniture

Ordering your virtual staging images is done through the Shop tab.

All you need to do is to click the Buy button after selecting the product you’d like to purchase.

And once you’ve clicked on the buy button, you are presented with 3 options to choose from: Pay as You Go, a Gold plan, and a Silver plan.

Next, you need to upload your photos which is a 3-step process: Upload Images, Add Notes & Select Furniture, Review & Pay.

The layout is clean, user-friendly, and functions well. 

In addition, a nice feature is that you can click on a specific part of your image and leave instructions about what you want, which comes in handy and is quite specific.

As seen on the screenshot below, the red dot indicates where I’ve asked for a special rug to cover some marks on the floor.

Furthermore, there are 12 room types and 12 furniture styles to choose from, as well as the option of letting the VSH Media team choose for you.

I chose Hamptons for this particular set of photos. You can also add in names of particular furniture pieces you’d like them to add to the room. 

Despite the fact that VSH Media offers a wide selection of room types and furniture styles, it’s a bit tedious having to do each of your rooms separately with all these selections.

I personally prefer it when all of these choices are on the same page. 

3. Payment 

The payment process begins with reviewing the order that you just created, which is helpful and gives you a good overview of your order. 

After reviewing your order, another step appears where you can include a tip for the ‘design elves’ and review your order once again.

I guess that’s a nice touch, but it’s pre-loaded with a $5 tip for the “elves”, which I found annoying. By the way, is it just me that finds the name design elves a little condescending?

Anyway, I clicked through to Paypal but had to go back when I saw the extra $5 charge. 

Moving on, the checkout page is quite sophisticated, and it’s good to see an option to pay with either Paypal or a credit card.

In contrast to VSH Media, many other virtual staging companies don’t offer both payment options. 

And after I had corrected the preloaded $5 tip for the “elves”, the actual payment process worked smoothly. 

4. Reviewing Order/Proofs

The first thing to say about the reviewing process is that it took a lot longer than I had anticipated.

Other services I’ve reviewed have exceeded their suggested delivery times, so VSH Media’s delivery time of 30 hours felt long.

Nevertheless, they did adhere to their deadline, but I was hoping that was a conservative estimate.

Another unexpected event was that the email notification telling me my order was ready was somehow diverted to the Promotions tab in my Gmail, which meant I didn’t see it there for some time.

I’m not sure why that is, but it slowed down the process significantly. Something to keep in mind when ordering from VSH Media…

Another downside was that when clicking on the View Details button, it took you back to the login screen, and then redirected to the Home Page.

And from there, you had to figure out where to go to see your images.

Not that it was difficult to figure out, but it created more steps than necessary, in my opinion.

Anyhow, I made it to the My Projects page, where I discovered that I had two projects in the pipeline.

It turned out that one project was from when I decided I didn’t want to pay the $5 tip and backpedaled.

Initially, this made me a bit worried I was going to be charged twice, but luckily I wasn’t.

The final image proofs show up as small thumbnails with an option to zoom in and take a closer look.

Besides, you can also download a Zip file for the full resolution images.

That all worked nicely! 

Virtual Staging Examples

I uploaded three empty rooms: a master bedroom, living room, and dining /kitchen to VSH Media and asked them to apply the Hamptons style to each image. 

Let’s take a closer look at their work:

Overall, I found the artistic quality of the work to be tasteful and pleasing.

The Hamptons look really worked for the rooms and they had chosen tasteful pieces with some nice touches that were realistic.

Especially the pillows and shadows on the bed were excellent, and the furniture chosen for the living room was great.

However, I didn’t like the welcome mat placed in both the living room and kitchen. Also, the flowers placed on the tables were clearly fake.

In my opinion, there was inconsistency between the rooms.

The kitchen and bedroom were good, but the living room felt rather average, making me ask for revisions.

Let’s take a look at the revision process next.

Sending Back Revisions

For starters, it took me some time to figure out how to request a revision and submit my comments.

I clicked around unsuccessfully for a while until I discovered where you were supposed to enter your comments.

It turned out you have to click on the Submit button at the top, then request a revision at the bottom, which felt a bit counterintuitive.

That said, VHS Media could benefit from improving the user experience related to submitting revisions.

Another odd thing was that after my revision request, my submission showed up on the My Projects screen. And it seemed to indicate that I had asked for the request in a different room.

That felt a bit confusing to me.

(Plot twist: The revision request didn’t work for VSH Media either. A few hours later, I got an email asking what the revisions were and if I could email them instead. Clearly, they were having some technical difficulties with their system.)

As it turned out, the revision process was a disappointment.

Even after 48 hours, there was still no update. Later, I got an email apologizing and saying my request had landed in their spam folder.

On top of that, I never received any notification when my revisions were finally completed.

Based on my experiences with other virtual staging providers, VSH Media has got a lot of work to do in streamlining their revisions process. 

More importantly, I was hoping they would try to fix the flowers on the table, not just remove them. As you can see in the revised image above, the flowers have been replaced with an empty vase.

Not quite what I was hoping for…

Furniture Library 

Unlike PhotoUp, there’s no furniture library for you to select your pieces.

You only have the option to select the style that you want and then you have to leave it in the hands of the designers to implement.

In all, they do a good job, but I really like the fact that PhotoUp gave me the option of choosing the furniture sets that I wanted for my rooms.

It felt like a more collaborative experience.

Virtual Staging Quality

In a nutshell, VSH Media is a decent option for real estate professionals who aren’t in a rush to get things done.

Their service is well-intentioned, all the interactions with their team were polite, but it took a lot longer than many of the other services I’ve reviewed.

Artistically, they can compete with the best VS companies, and overall their UX framework functions well.

But if they would put more effort into improving their system, we could definitely see them climb in the rankings for 2022. 

Generally, the layout and positioning were great in the photos I received. The sense of realism with the furniture was excellent, although the plants and flowers left a lot to be desired.

Going forward, the 2D nature of the plants needs to be improved if they are going to compete with the likes of PhotoUp and BoxBrownie. 

Support 

In my opinion, the support is where VSH Media tripped up and could do much better.

First of all, the revisions I asked for took too long before they were delivered.

Second, some parts of the revisions didn’t work properly, and occasional messages got lost along the way.

They did get the job done eventually, but it was a slow process and not a good experience from my end.

At the end of the day, the issues I ran into while testing and writing this VSH Media virtual staging review spoiled what had been an otherwise satisfactory experience. 

Pros and Cons of VSH Media

To give you a better overview, here are some pros and cons of VSH Media’s virtual staging:

Verdict: Is VSH Media Virtual Staging Worth It?

My final verdict of this VSH Media virtual staging review is that VSH Media is a decent option for your virtual staging needs if you aren’t in a hurry to get results.

They produce tasteful images, and the ordering and payment process is on par with the other services.

With a few tweaks to their backend and customer service, I suspect they could become one of the bigger players in the growing VS industry.

Stuccco Virtual Staging Overview

To begin, Stuccco is an online virtual staging and interior design business from Louisville, Kentucky. The company was founded in 2015 and publicly launched in 2016.

Their primary business is to serve homeowners with sophisticated interior design options that are competing with traditional interior designers to be more affordable and efficient.

And in 2019, they added their virtual staging service for real estate professionals to their suite of offerings. 

Virtual Staging Examples

When checking some examples of virtual staging by Stuccco, the artistic execution of the staging was well done.

Proportions were good, renders were sharp, and the furniture sets matched nicely.

However, their work didn’t inspire me.

There was nothing beyond the ordinary that stood out to me. But overall, their virtual staging was decent.

On a more positive note, I asked for extra indoor plants in the living room, which they implemented.

Although, I was hoping for a little more color and personal touches. But to their defense, I should have gone with a different style choice than “comfortable contemporary.”

Anyway, here are some before and after examples from Stuccco: 

Ordering From Stuccco

The signup flow and order process works well. 

Stucco asks a few questions along the way, such as whether you are a Homeowner or a Home Professional (photographer or agent) and whether you want Virtual Staging or Online Interior Design.

Overall, the ordering process with Stucco was smooth, and I was able to complete a whole order (4 images) in about ten minutes.

After completing the signup process, I found the dashboard a little confusing.

For instance, there’s a forced welcome video that annoyed me. Since I didn’t want to spend time watching it, I had to go through the whole Settings menu until I found the section where I could upload my unstaged photos.

No doubt it gets more intuitive the more you use the site, but my first impression was that it was slightly confusing. 

3. Ordering Virtual Staging

In contrast to the confusing dashboard, the process of adding photos is simple once you land in the right place.

And it’s nice to see that when uploading a set of images, they appear all together on one page, which provides a good overview.

In addition, each photo has its own drop-down menu to identify the room style you want to use. And then at the end, you choose a design style for the complete set and fill in a few details before you proceed to payments. 

4. Select a Plan

For your first order, you’re asked to select a payment plan before proceeding to the Payment Info page. 

5. Checkout

The entire ordering process took about ten minutes and was smooth once you got through the initial onboarding.

On the website, Stuccco promotes the delivery of virtual staging 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, and they did deliver on that promise. I received notification that my order was complete only after 8 hours, which was gratifying. 

Like mentioned, Stuccco guarantees 24-hour delivery of your photos. But if you want them staged faster, you can also pay an additional fee of $10 per picture to get the delivery time down to 12 hours.

Furniture Library

The room and furniture styles that Stuccco is offering are presented neatly on their homepage. And you can click on any of the 9 styles to open a slider with examples of rooms in that style. 

While it’s easy to navigate, the uniform look and color schemes used in every single style make it hard to distinguish between them after a while.

Besides, you’re not able to select any individual furniture items, which was disappointing.

Unlike PhotoUp, Stuccco doesn’t offer bespoke, unique furniture sets for the viewer to choose from. PhotoUp even allows you to collaborate with virtual staging artists when you make your furniture selections.

Generally, the furniture looks and feels modern, yet a little generic. The renders are sharp and clean, at least.

But if Stuccco would make the styles stand out from one another using different home types, color palettes, and photography, their furniture library would get a boost.

At the end of the day, all of their styles tend to look slightly bland and uniform. 

Virtual Staging Quality

To my disappointment, viewing and downloading the final staged photos was surprisingly tricky.

I struggled to log back into the Stuccco dashboard and couldn’t find the right menu option or where to click to view and download the finished images.

But when I finally got to the page where I could download the final images, the layout looked good. My point is that other users of their site probably struggle to locate their images as well.

Fortunately, the final virtual staging images were pleasing, except for the bedroom that was generic and disappointing, lacking in flair and personality. The living room, on the other hand, was well thought out.

The bedroom could be enhanced with an accent color, for example, a bold rug to really lift the room. 

In retrospect, a “comfortable contemporary” style was perhaps not the right choice for this specific house since there wasn’t enough vibrancy in the pictures once the virtual furniture was placed.

Support

Stuccco’s service was solid and reliable once getting hold of a support representative.

My main issue was that I first couldn’t find where to get in touch with a designer to ask for revisions. I had to search through the menu options for a good while, before reaching out via chat.

Once again, I’m sure there are easier ways, but I couldn’t find them.

In other words, the UX (user experience) of the site left me wanting something a little simpler and more intuitive.

Pros and Cons of Stuccco

Verdict: Is Stuccco Virtual Staging Worth It?

My final verdict of this Stuccco virtual staging review is that Stuccco offers a well-run service.

The results I received were more than adequate, but not outstanding.

The delivery was timely, but I can see that overall costs will increase quickly as there are many extra charges listed that may be necessary as you add additional services. 

By comparison, PhotoUp has a more bespoke and modern system for its offerings, and realtors can be more involved in creating the design of the rooms.

Best of all, PhotoUp’s virtual staging is cheaper per photograph and offers more services as part of a basic package, saving you money over time.

BoxBrownie Virtual Staging Overview 

Based out of the Sunshine Coast in Australia, BoxBrownie has been a true internet success story.

For starters, co-founder Mel Myers is known as Australia’s youngest university student. Not only that, but he also built a very successful photo editing company that runs a high volume, low margin business and is driven by a highly automated technology stack.

Additionally, BoxBrownie offers a wide variety of services, ranging from real estate photo editing to 3D renders. They even offer copywriting for residential and commercial real estate, but virtual staging does stand out as their primary service.

Virtual Staging Examples

The virtual staging services that BoxBrownie offered were delivered quickly and were of a high standard.

Besides, they interpreted my notes very well, and the Scandinavian style furniture that they used was well placed and looked realistic.

Take a look at the before and after examples below: 

The lamp and bedside table in the bedroom looked nice. And the kitchen/living space was the most realistic of the set.

However, the living room felt slightly cramped, and they could have used the space better.

Ordering From BoxBrownie

The ordering process with BoxBrownie is a slick, well-oiled machine.

Signing up is quick and painless. It only takes seconds until you start interacting with the system, uploading your images, and selecting furniture.

They guide you through the steps, keeping all the major decisions around room types and style on one page. And they provide space for you to leave any specific directions to the designers. 

In addition, the payment gateway was also smooth and offered no major surprises. There’s a helpful dashboard at the end of the process that lets you easily monitor the status of your order.

To my disappointment, BoxBrownie doesn’t offer a furniture library to consumers, but they use tasteful and colorful pieces to liven up the interior.

For instance, you can find a selection of room types in a drop-down menu, and the styles are well-laid out to easily make your selection.

Virtual Staging Quality

The quality of the furniture was good.

The size of the files made downloads easy, especially for overloaded laptops. And there were no tricky zip files to navigate along the way, which was a bonus. 

That said, there’s no doubt that BoxBrownie offers a quality virtual staging service. 

Except for the quality of the furniture, the renders were also clean. Clearly, there was a good interior design eye behind the placement of furniture.

Also, the way they organized the various pieces in each of the rooms was satisfactory. 

Support

I decided to test out the chat function to see how responsive Boxbrownie’s support was.

Turns out, it was surprisingly efficient.

At the end of the day, you can see why the Company is of the most respected brands when it comes to virtual staging.

Alongside PhotoUp, they deliver high-quality products and make it easy for the consumer to navigate their website. 

But with the wide array of industries they service, it’s tough to pin them down as a business focused on the real estate industry or real estate photographers specifically.

With the cost of one virtual staging image starting at $24, there was little to complain about in terms of price.

However, I found the absence of a furniture library a bit disappointing.

All things considered, the responsive support and extra attention to detail that PhotoUp offers were more to my liking.

Alright, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of my Rooomy virtual staging review!

Rooomy Virtual Staging Overview

To begin, Rooomy is a Dutch-based company offering virtual staging and online real estate marketing services.

Their mission is to ‘help you better visualize your space through the power of 3D, augmented, virtual reality and mixed reality’.

They offer virtual tools for real estate professionals looking to improve their marketing images and attract buyers to their high-end properties. 

Working from their base in Amsterdam, Rooomy offers virtual staging and an interior design app that users can download and use to design their perfect room.

Virtual Staging Examples

In this review, I uploaded an example of a living room and asked Rooomy to virtually stage it using a mid-century modern style.

To my satisfaction, the sign-up process was quick and easy.

And even though they stated it would take 2-3 working days to get results, they delivered a treated image only after 12 hours.

Additionally, my staged images arrived in a friendly email containing a link to a shared google folder.

Ordering From Rooomy

Much to my liking, ordering from Rooomy turned out to be a simple and straightforward process.

You don’t have to sign up at all to put in an order. However, the downside is that there are no options to do bulk uploading or process a large number of pictures all at once.

Therefore, each image has to be uploaded and paid for individually, which can make the process a bit longer when staging multiple rooms.

1. Order Form

The order form has a bespoke, one-off feel to it. And you can select your options from simple drop-down menus, upload your image, and then move onto the checkout page. 

2. Check Out

In the next step, you are redirected to the checkout page, where you review your order and complete your purchase.

The process is straightforward: Fill in your billing details, click on the “continue to payment” button, and your order has been placed!  

That’s all there is to it.

Overall, the ordering process is quick but lacks many visual details that would make selecting styles and furniture more intuitive.

Revision Requests

When the images were delivered via email in the morning, I responded and asked for a revision. As it appears, all revisions must be requested via email, which made the revision process pretty simple.

I asked for one revision in the living room to fix the chair in the foreground since it felt distorted.

The revision came through the same afternoon, and the entire revision process was slick and well handled, in my opinion.

To give you a better overview, here’s the living room image before and after my revision request:

Furniture Library 

Strangely enough, it appears that Rooomy doesn’t have a furniture library for virtual staging.

They have a good selection of items for the interior design app, but not for their virtual staging service, which was disappointing.

But they do offer 8 different styles for the staging, including a farmhouse, Scandinavian, traditional, and transitional (not sure what the last option refers to though).

In addition, the ‘Room Function’ category where you choose what kind of room you’re decorating is quite comprehensive.

There are around 30 different selections, including specific options like teenage bedroom, balcony, and media room. 

But with all this, it’s odd that you can’t look at specific pieces of furniture beforehand.

And you don’t have the option to create an account, which is a downside for returning customers that have to fill in all information over and over.

In addition, when I sent a query asking about their virtual furniture library, I got sent a username to log in to their support site (not the main site).

Even more strange was that the next day, I received an email saying:  “Thank you for reaching out. In order to be competitive, we generally do not open up our library to users. Which items, in particular, are you looking for?‘

You would think that you’d get even more competitive when showcasing a furniture library?!

Virtual Staging Quality

The finished product was delivered via email, including the final rendered files in a Google Drive folder.

Unexpectedly for the price, the quality of the images was a bit disappointing. And the placement of the furniture was not ideal.

For starters, half the room by the door was left empty. Second, a few additional accessories such as curtains, wall art, or some plants would have warmed up the room. 

More so, I thought the furniture was too digital for my taste. It didn’t look like a real room to me. I also asked for a revision to fix the chair in the foreground, which felt distorted. 

Besides, I appreciate when virtual staging companies provide different image formats, such as JPEG, TIFF, or RAW for download, as your final use may be different (for instance, print vs online marketing).

In contrast to, for example, PhotoUp, Rooomy only offers JPEG image formats. Although it was a 9MB file and perfectly fine, extra options would have been a nice touch. 

But when I asked for changes, they implemented them and did a much better job, which was pleasing. 

Pros and Cons of Rooomy

To give you a better overview, here are some pros and cons of Rooomy’s virtual staging:

Verdict: Is Rooomy Virtual Staging Worth It?

The final verdict of my Rooomy virtual staging review is that they provide an average product.

However, on a good note, the turnaround was quicker than expected for a virtual staging service.

A major downside is that the price is significantly higher than other virtual staging providers, like PhotoUp.

Also, it seems that their focus is more on their interior design app than providing online virtual staging services.

But overall, the design they offered after the revision was satisfactory.
